Count on a held ball??
Coach loses by 2 and after the game asks "What is the Count on a held ball?"
Translating what she said...How long do you wait until you call a held ball? How would you answer this type of question:confused: |
Count on a held ball??
When it's clear that it's held by both of them.
Are you sure she wasn't asking about a closely guarded count? |
[QUOTE=Welpe;999066]When it's clear that it's held by both of them.
Are you sure she wasn't asking about a closely guarded count?[/QUOTE Yes I am sure..Reason she asked...She is done by 2 with 4 seconds left and during rebounding action my partner who is a D2 ref, calls a held ball and it wipes out the tying basket, since held ball killed the play. The team down by 2 had the arrow and with .7 left had 2 opportunities to score but no good. |
I know lots here will say this but don't be around the coach to even give her the chance to ask this question. Once the horn blows, get you butt off the floor to your dressing room.
And if she still finds a way to intercept you and ask, answer based on the rule. It's a held ball when two opposing players have hold on ball and one cannot control it without undue force. |

The held ball question has been answered. I'll add to what BlueDevilRef said: get off the court.
And unless you had a double whistle on that particular call, I wouldn't answer the coach's question anyway. Chances are, when he blew the whistle, the opponent released her hold on the ball. I wouldn't get into that with the coach, though. If there's enough time in the game, she can ask your partner. If the game's over, get the hell out of there. |

NONE. Actually, I probably would have said "What? What is your question…" then "NONE" and depending how he'd been during the game i might slip a "really?" in there somewhere. |
