Correctable error question
Had this happen: Team A fouled and it's team B's 8th foul. Line Teams up for A1 to shoot one and one. Partner announces " two shots". A1 misses first free throw. None of the players move since they were told it (erroneously) was the first shot of a two shot foul. (Scoreboard had gone out moments before with about 30 seconds to go in a 25 point blowout so we couldn't refer to scoreboard to confirm foul count; timer was just going to call out the seconds so we could get game over.)
Luckily it didn't affect this game but had me wondering what we should have done. What we actually did was blow whistle, got together to discuss and went to possession arrow since no one rebounded the missed free throw. Wondering if that was correct? |

Did you look it up in the rule book after the game to see how you should have handled it? That would be the best way of knowing. Regardless, your instincts were correct with how to handle it.
