FIBA Rule catching airball
I have found several websites that clearly explain the rule regarding catching ones own airball.
My question is; Where can I find what FIBA rule that applies to the situation? I can not find the situation specifically stated in the official rules nor the interpretations governing FIBA. Regards, Jeff |

There are no rules on "airballs". Look under shot attempts. Once you've determined its a shot attempt, airball or not you follow same expectation. If you don't think its a attempt. Rules for passing/dribbles/fumbles and footwork would apply.
