#14 whacked the shooter's elbow pretty good there.

Foul on #14, whose right arm moved forward out his vertical space and hit the shooter's non-shooting arm.

No BI. The ball was outside the cylinder when it was tapped.

Hated the first call in real time, maybe because L thought it was clean. There was a block called shortly after this that was called by the C where I thought L also had a good look. It seemed like a rough five minutes with no flow.

Foul. No BI - is that Bilas?

Plenty of contact on shooter's arms for foul call, though could be a pass.

Freeze second clip at :46 to see ball out of the cylinder. Impossible to tell from the floor. I'd like to see this added to reviewable plays.

"we're 60 feet from the play and can see there's no foul"
"official was out of position..."

Play 1:

Looks like L-14 right arm is out of his vertical plane the the forearm in contact with P-44 left shooting elbow; CC

I'm not fond of Lead's "clean-block" mechanic at the endline.

Play 2:

The ball appeared to outside the cylinder and on it's way down. I don't like the Center's angle/closed-look to make a call on this play; CI

To me this was obvious. I had not issue with this call at all. And I think the Trail was the best one to call it as everything was up top. And he did not call the foul on the player that made the block.

Now this is probably why video is better than pictures. I think he touched the ball before it got out of the cylinder. But it was ever so close for sure.

Peace

I agree; I just don't like the view the Center had to make his ruling.

Although I believe it's CI, I'm good with the BI call on the floor in real-time.

I'd say that it isn't conclusive from even that view. It was incredibly close. The camera position, while above the basket appears to be more above the center point of the basket. This was so close, you'd need a camera above the right edge of the basket to be certain about the position of the ball. If in doubt, it is whatever the calling official decided. Can't really fault him either way.

Also, as Jeff said, it isn't necessarily about where the ball finally reached but when the player actually touched the ball.

I believe it is a pretty clear foul in the first play. The defender made significant contact with the shooter's arm, outside the defenders vertical plane, forcing him to shift the ball to only being in the other hand where it was blocked....definite advantage.

BI/GT are the primary call of the official opposite where the shot came from, which was the C in this case. NCAA and HS mechanics.

"Call Incorrect"
1. The Center IS the one that made the call.

2. I've always seen it written as IC, for "incorrect call."
