Entering the court
Newer varsity official question...run out or walk with a purpose ?

As in, when entering to observe warmups?
I don't think I've ever seen an official run in this instance or even "walk with a purpose." Just walk out normally and assume your proper position. |
Run out at the beginning? No. Run in at the end? Yes!

Whatever your partner(s) do.

I have never had partners do anything but walk out...no matter the level of play.

Walk is all you need to do. No need to draw more attention to yourself.
Peace |
And when you walk out, make sure you blow your whistle....well if you're in Texas anyways.

Several older officials in my HS association love to run out for "big" games. I think walking out is infinitely more professional, but if they want to put a bigger target on their back for the night... all the more entertainment for me. :D

Walk on, jog off. If it is a FIBA gf game where a signature on the scoresheet is required that magically happens at halftime.
