The last part of the video....gonna be a doozy

Not an NCAA basketball official... but yeah, that's gonna be interesting.

Side note: Glad to see that the NCAA basketball training videos use the same annoying generic guitar riff music as the football videos.

At 5:34 he mentions "modifying our rebounding positioning." What revised mechanic is he talking about?

My elbow, part of my arm which happened to be vertical when I broke your nose, merits nothing on me. Defensive foul.
Huh?
Wonder if this is gonna bleed down (forgive the pun) to the NFHS level in subsequent years.
This might just go the way of "upward movement...".

Yeah that will be interesting to judge. I think the consistency is going to be horrible.

Ok, what am I not seeing in the video at 2:27-2:50? The video says it is an offensive foul for displacing the defender. I'm just not seeing it.

That is a pretty wacky definition of vertical space too. Several of those defenders were completely upright, not sure how the space over the defenders feet can belong to another player just because they're close.

The only thing I saw on that play was the outstretched arms. Definitely no displacement by the offensive player.

I don't know what the past NCAAM's mechanic was but maybe it's a reference to the location of the L and the T?

On this play the L is standing on the endline and the T isn't on the screen. Maybe the T had something he needed to stay with in the backcourt but the L's position had him straightlined.

Question for the NCAAM folks...was the play at 10:40 not a legal play prior to this season or is the video just emphasizing it is a legal play?

Do you mean jumping up in the RA? Yes that was always legal to attempt to block the shot or defend a shot while originally being in the RA.

Remember, this is a coaching video so that coaches know what is going to be discussed by the coordinator and supervisors throughout the season.

Peace

He is just talking about moving and not being stagnant from my point of view. I have been told in camps for years not to just stay put on rebounding plays and to get the better angle.

Peace

It's the way I've always been told how to adjudicate these plays, but it's the first time I've seen it specifically addressed by the rule makers AFAIK.
