Question

Last night at our assoc. meeting we covered fouls. During the technical part, we were told that two or more players locking arms(to prevent someone from coming between them I guess) is a technical foul. I honestly have never heard this. Does anyone know if this is true, and/or where in the rule or case book it is noted? I looked throught he rules last night and I could not find it.

4-24-9 "it is not legal to lock arms or grap a teammate(s) in an effort to restrict the movement of an opponent."

10-1-11 " Allow players to lock arms or grasp a teammate(s) in an effort to restrict the movement of an opponent." Penalty: (All articles) Two free throws plus ball for division-line throw-in.

Check NFHS 10-1-11. It is a Team technical.

The rule was introduced in 97-98.
