NFHS State Association

Does your state play by NFHS rules? If not, what differences does your state have (example shot clock, halves instead of quarters, etc.)? Same for boys and girls?

As it relates to mechanics is the majority of your state using three-person mechanics or two-person mechanics? Is it the same in the playoffs as in the regular season?

SC is 100% NFHS rules and mechanics (though use of strict NFHS mechanics isn't really enforced). All varsity is 3-man, most sub-varsity is 2-man but some areas use 3-man.

There are no other rules to go by and use. Mechanics are up to each state and our state has some very small differences, but we use the NF Mechanics for the most part. Basketball is the main sport I know of from our state that uses all the NF Mechanics for the most part. Other sports go way away from the NF.

Also we have 3 Person for every playoff game assigned by our state. In the regular season it is up to the school, league or conference to decide what system they want to use in their games. But most places use 3 Person for all varsity contests. A couple of places like the Chicago Public Schools use a lot of 2 Person, but use 3 Person for many of their bigger division games.

Peace

Arizona plays by NFHS rules, we do have a mercy rule where there is a running clock.

The mechanics have a few changes, we switch on every foul including the long switch. On a free throw, the trail official is opposite table rather than table side as to be away from the coach. We also do not use the NFHS time out locations, we use the 3 man time out locations except that we work 2 man for everything so there is no official standing at the in-bounding location.
