NCAA Mens - two-hand foul reporting - 0, 00

The NCAA indicated that 2 hands will be used for foul reporting:

Foul reporting:
a. During the 2016-17 season we will begin using two-hand reporting to the table on
all fouls. The right hand will be the first number and the left hand will be the
second number. One hand reporting will only be used for player numbers #0-#5.
b. Make sure that our officials clear the players, clear the 3-point arc and have line
of sight with the scorer (page 23 of the 2015-2016 mechanics manual).
c. When you call a foul in your primary area, report the foul to the table. We need to
force switches in order to get officials in different positions on the floor.

I have ideas but am curious what others do or if it is clearly demonstrated in the officials manual/rule/case publications.

How should 0 and 00 be signaled? How do you do it?

One hand, closed fist. Two hands, closed fists.

That's interesting considering JD required one-handed reporting in both of his leagues before he got the National Coordinator job. Thought he might require that along with his "stop the clock" mantra. Another thing NCAA-W has already gotten right I guess.

They were requiring this under Adams.

We have been doing two-handed reporting for some time, so this is not new. I guess it is now a requirement.

Pet peeve: using "number" when you mean "digit"

The conferences I work in adopted 2-hand reporting several years ago. It was always optional in the mechanics manual and therefore became the supervisor's preference of 2-hands.

Clearing the players again comes from the manual, but some have adopted the NBA philosophy of "walking and talking" while reporting.
