SC State/Hampton RA Play (video)
Just figured out I can do these while a game is on live. Who knew?
At any rate, regardless of what we may think of the call on the floor I've become more convinced the past few weeks that RA plays should be reviewable. IMO, the official who is on-ball has too much to consider and the two who are off-ball don't tend to check the secondary defender's feet. I sent in a rule suggestion to NCAA saying as much. I think NBA officials do a much better job with these plays - as they should - because officiating is all they do. <iframe width="960" height="720" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/r2QxNEjabvg?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
This one was weird.
Seems like the C had an unobstructed view and could've brought information. I don't know regardless of RA or not, why this one got ruled a PC. |
I would argue this play is not an RA play either. This is a 3 on 3 break, not an outnumber situation, therefore, it is likely the red player is the primary defender on this play and thus it doesn't matter where he establishes lgp.
In response to Jet, please no more monitor reviews. some of these games are ridiculous with all the reviews, especially in the last two minutes where in some games it seems like every whistle is reviewed. As a fan, it is terrible to watch. |
I agree that it is a 3 v 3 situation.
I also don't believe that the defender ever gets between the offensive player and the basket along his path. He is ends up a step behind that line instead of squarely in it. I have a block for the reason that the defender never establishes ILGP. |

I agree....never had LGP. Should have been a block.
