SC Official For our NCAAW gurus: Is the proper mechanic for a backcourt endline throw-in to bounce the ball across the lane rather than walking to the other side? I've seen this in a lot of games I've watched recently and thought it was worth asking about.
reffish Yes, it is proper to bounce the ball across the lane even when there is defensive pressure; exception is when throw in spot is outside the arc of the three point line and the trail will balance the floor.
bob jenkins The official can also walk part- or all the way across and bounce the ball the rest of the way and then move back to the previous side. I do wish others would adopt this mechanic.
