Duke @ Louisville (Video)

Play #1: We have talked about this move a few times, was this executed properly?

Play #2: Was this a good call?

Peace

No because he gathered the ball by cuffing it, making his right foot the pivot, which he obviously replants.

In real speed it looked to me that he didn't gather the ball until his right foot was in the air, and his left foot was down, meaning the play would be legal. Upon review, and thanks to BNR's comment, I can see that the dribbler picked up the ball in his left hand (cuffing it) while his right foot was down and therefore the pivot... travel.

That's two videos in a row of me missing a call in real time... yikes. I gotta be quicker on this.

Oh, and I don't agree with the BI call. Looked like the ball was outside the cylinder when it was grabbed by the offensive rebounder and dunked.

Do not feel bad, I felt the very same way. I was convinced this was legal and why I clipped the play in the first place. Well I was not also not correct when looking at replay that I slowed down. Very hard play.

BTW, there is a lot going on in this game. There was a Flagrant Foul Review later in this game as well and I will try to post the play and the result a little later. I have a game this afternoon and have to leave soon.

Peace

I was hoping you'd get this posted sooner rather than later, but you gotta take care of business.

Did I hear the officials tell the broadcast crew that it was a "dead ball, non-contact technical foul"? I'm sitting in a hotel this morning waiting for my afternoon games watching this.

I have the entire sequence saved. I just have to go through more of it to not have a very long video. But I plan on showing all the reviews and that part of the video. I just have to get ready and probably will have it posted later tonight.

Peace

There's a couple of still shots to tide everyone over until Jrut can do the video post.

If you have access to the replay of the game on the WATCHESPN app, you can fast forward to about the 1:45:30 mark to see the sequence that earns him the technical.

I'm horrible at BI. Very difficult to officiate, IMO.

I would agree BNR. I thought it was a missed call. Looked like it popped out (replay not slow mo) just before UL guy stuffed it.

While that is the way it was shown on ESPN, I think those two conversations occurred in reverse order. I think at the point Coach K was speaking to the official holding the ball, he had already been whacked. When they then showed the replay where the T was assessed, it sounds like Dickie V at first thinks he has just been whacked a second time.

This was the replay of the events. Actually the video starts with the official that did not call the T talking to Coach K. The actual live event was not caught on video. They reported afterwards that Coach K got a T.

Peace

I think that's what I said, without saying it quite like that.

Ah, Dookie V. Sees a replay and thinks it's live action. Tsk, tsk.
