UVa-Duke video request

Last shot by Duke. Looked an awful lot like Grayson Allen traveled before the shot AND went up-and-down on the shot.

Full disclosure: I'm a Central VA native and hella biased. But I legitimately do want to see the play again.

Block causing the travel is the way I see the play.

Body contact just as the Duke player gathers the ball enough to knock him off rhythm.

After gathering his dribble with two hands at 1.7 left on the clock with his right foot on the floor, his left foot comes down and he then picks up his right foot and takes a full step forward, placing the right foot down on the court again prior to releasing the try for goal.
Yes, he traveled.

The body contact with the defender is initiated by the ball-handler. He moves forward into a retreating defender who has LGP. The defender did not commit a foul. The offensive player was not airborne and the defender is allowed to move.

As a Duke fan, I hate to admit it: he traveled. And this only fuels the fire of "Duke gets all the calls"

I thought when I saw it are real speed that it was a travel, however the expectation is that if you need slow motion to prove that a play was a travel or not then its probably going to be not called. At this level that is expected.

I needed slow motion for the second one, but not the first one. But as stated above, the first one is never called.

I will do my best to post a couple of plays from this game. I am not home and have at least two plays I want to post for the group.

Peace

Travel, and it really wasn't close. He picked up the ball with the right foot on the floor with the left having just been lifted (making the right the pivot foot). He steps with the left then steps with the right again...travel.

You can't expect defenders to play legal defense when you let offensive players have that much extra freedom of movement beyond what the rules permit.
