Video Request: Iowa/Indiana block/charge plays

22.5 seconds remaining & 8.0 seconds left.

I strongly believe that the first one was a clear PC.
The second one also seemed to be a PC to me, but wasn't as blatant.

Iowa-Indiana video request--block in last 30 seconds

Can't remember the exact time but the Iowa guy drove the lane and extended his arm to push off the Indiana defender. Block was called by the lead.

Seemed like the defense didn't beat him to the spot, but there also was a push off.

I saw the same play. In real time it seemed obvious that first contact was initiated by A1. In slow motion, it appears that B1 initiated contact with the dribbler a few tenths of a second before A1 extended his arm. I could be wrong. Would love to see the video here and read discussion.

Two plays in question.

viewed on the little screen, I have block on both.

The push in the first was a reaction to the illegal contact by white and happened "after" the foul.

I know better than to disagree with Bob. Can you explain why you feel the first is a block?

I do not have white 11 maintaining LGP.

Bc as the offensive player heads towards the wing white is not in his path?

JRutledge Fri Feb 12, 2016 12:17pm

On the first one, I have a PC foul. The push off is rather clear in the replay. Might not have been as clear on the live angle the Lead had, but I think that is pretty obvious to me.

Peace

yes, and if you stop it at 8 seconds, it looks like black's head and shoulders are (enough) past white.

Agreed. One the 2nd play I have the defender illegally contacting the ball-handler prior to any push off.

But on the first one its a rather obvious, with the benefit of replay, PC. The ball handler initiates the contact by extending his forearm and displacing the defender.
