Google Glass

So, player shows up on the court wearing Google Glass.

Any rule prohibiting it?

3-5-1. Can't wear equipment which not appropriate. Even in warmups. See case plays 3.5 etc. can't wear a necklace in warmups...can't wear gloves because not appropriate...and most upsetting to me, no shoes with lights on them...

I've thought that Google Glass would be great for training new officials. You could have them wear them, and it would show what they're looking at, and you can tell them what they SHOULD be looking at.

I believe with Glass you could receive electronic instructions from the sideline as well.

Equipment and apparel shall not be modified from the original manufactured state and shall be worn in the manner the manufacturer intended it to be worn.

Don't know how these are any more unsafe than a regular pair of glasses.

They're probably not. But while eyeglasses are needed to see, Google Glass is not needed at all.

Unless they are also the player's regular eyeglasses. Now you're getting into murky territory.

I'm sorry, I never saw where Google Glass was a substitute for eyeglasses.

If they aren't making them in prescription lenses yet, they will be.

The question is, is it fair for players to have a HUD on the court?

What's an HUD?

Heads-Up-Display

Information is projected onto the lens so you can see it without having to look somewhere when your attention needs to be in front of you.
