High school camps

Does anyone have any information on high school camps? I'm 37 now, been in basketball for 3 years and have no aspirations for college ball. On top of that, I don't really have time off from work for it.

So, I'm looking for websites, etc for camps that are geared for NFHS. I live in Missouri and that would be awesome if there was one close. If you have anything helpful, I really appreciate it. I know MSHSSA does one in Columbia in the summer but I've yet to find info on it.

This site has been the best source for information on high school and college camps. It has not been updated for 2016, but you can get a good feel for what camps were offered in 2015 and see what dates are set for this year.

What part of Missouri?

Which association(s) do you belong to?

Last Year there was

Show-Me State Games (This may be the one you are referring to)
Show-Me State Games - Referees and Officials

ALSO last year
==================================
Missouri Southern State University
Joplin, MO
June 29, 30, July 1
Morning, Evening, All day sessions

Camp Format:
Teaching and evaluating current MSHSAA & NFHS mechanics and philosophies
On court feedback
Film evaluation and breakdown

Camp staff will include:
Ty Bills, NCAA Division I official & MSHSAA Final Four official
Devon Tourtillott, NCAA Division II official & KSHSAA State official
===============================================

Also if you work any games in Kansas, there was 2 great camps held by KSHSAA.

I'm from Springfield and a member of SMBOA. Thanks for the info! The one put on by MSHSSA you mentioned is what I'm looking for but I'm blocked from so much stuff at work and I've not been able to find it up to now. And the one at Southern would be awesome. I know Ty, he is one of our board members and I went to college at MoSo. Thanks!!

Thumbs up

I attended (with 2 friends) the MSHSAA officials camp (emphasis on 3 man) at Show Me State Games last year and it was tremendous.

I plan on attending again this year so I can shoot you a message when I find out the dates for the camp. ( I believe the dates last year were during the second or third week of July). We have a contact at the MSHSAA office, so I might be able to get information a bit sooner than would be published.

The camp was excellent, especially since I do mostly 2 man. The evaluators had a field day with me --- correcting old habits from 2 man. They were hands on --- literally -- at one point in a game I felt hands on my hips from behind and someone moving me into the proper position.

I believe it was 4 games and 4 hours of classroom........................... amazing how much my mechanics have improved since attending the camp.

Refk, I believe it is first weekend in June this year. I want to attend for lots of reasons, chief of which is to get better in all aspects which I would hope would mean a better schedule next year. Only problem is it is same weekend of a softball tournament I usually call every year. But hit me up with your info and we can meet up there if I decide to attend.

Last time I worked with Devon the MSSU camp was on again for this summer, date TBD. Also, KSHSAA is doing another high school camp this summer.

Wichita, June 10-12
Lawrence June 24-26

Not sure about posting the guys email address on here so I'll send you a PM.

I'm just on the Kansas side from Joplin. I'll probably be at the MSSU camp and the Lawrence camp.

Ty and Devon are both first rate officials, I work a fair number of college games with Devon. I'll be at the Lawrence camp as well, but on the college side (KJCCC and KCAC) which is held in conjunction with the KHSAA camp.

Devon is on the Arbiter (Or was last year) for the SW Missouri group. Worked with him last year for the first time. He does a really good job.
