Foul followed by T

I can't find this in the casebook! Help me out.

Shooting Foul on H1, followed by T on H head coach.

Correct administration is shooting foul by the player that was fouled followed by the T shots by a player of V coach, correct?

H coach is also the tourney administrator and has brought it up and I just want to point him to the right place in the casebook.

I do not know exactly where it is in the casebook, but you administer all fouls in the order that they took place.

The shooting foul was first. The T was second.

So with no one on the lane you shoot the shooting foul with the player that was fouled.

Then the second sequence you shoot the T with anyone on the line from the offended team that is available, including a sub. Then you give the ball to the half court division line, opposite the table.

I bet it is within Rule 4 or Rule 10 Casebook plays.

Peace

That's what we did. Coach didn't understand the whole thing

Even if you show the coach, that does not mean the coach will accept your explanation. I have shown coaches the actual casebook only to be told, "That does not sound right." The best way you can tell them, "In high school the rule is....." and if they cannot figure it out from there, move on.

Peace

Coach needs to stop watching NCAA basketball until he understands the rule differences.

If you're looking in your rule book, you'll look under the definitions of fouls in rule 4, particularly "false multiple foul."

Then, look in the penalties section in rule 10 where it will tell you false multiple fouls are penalized in order of occurrence. The penalty for the T is two shots and the ball.

How is he a varsity coach and the TD and not understand this one? That's pretty basic to me. Maybe he is just confusing what he sees on tv with college.

Don't give varsity coaches or tournament directors that much credit.

I am never surprised when I hear coaches talk rules. For the most part the more they talk rules the more they show what they don't know.
