Another Test Question

After the time limit, it is only one technical foul if the coach of Team B notifies the scorers and an official of several number changes in his/her team roster list before any of these team members compete.

Anybody have problem with the word "notifies" compared to the rule book wording "requires". Notify means to me to inform or let someone know, but still doesn't require the scorer to make the change.

The infraction occurs when the scorer is advised to add/change the scorebook. Once the ball becomes live, it is too late to penalize.

Case book 10.1.2

(a) Three minutes prior to the start of the game; or (b) during a time-out in the second quarter of play, the Team B coach requests the scorer to add a name to the team list or change a team member's number in the scorebook. When is the penalty invoked for this administrative infractions?
Ruling: The infraction occurs when the scorer is advised to add to or change the scorebook. The foul must be charged when it occurs and enforced when the ball next becomes live. Once the ball becomes live, it is to late to penalize.

Oh, the lovely case book.

It is true. it's talking about the 10 minute mark, and if you change 3 numbers prior to the start of the game, you only have one technical foul.
