It doesn't. Forget about the division plane....it has nothing to do with anything at the NFHS or NCAA level. FC/BC status is all about where things touch. For a dribbler, all 3 points must actually touch the floor in the frontcourt for the ball to be considered to be in the frontcourt.

No...because the ball would gain FC status as the dribbler ends the dribble to toss it back to someone else.
They could, however, continue to dribble the ball in the backcourt, and even step back into the backcourt....all while the 10 second count continues. |
