Free throw violation question
 

Reading the section on free throws and how to penalize violations - just wanted to make sure I understand one of the situations correctly:

A1 is shooting a free throw. Prior to the release of the FT, B1 (standing behind the 3pt line) crosses the 3 pt line. If A2, who is positioned in one of the marked lane spaces were to violate, we would then treat the situation as a simultaneous violation, correct?

However, if B1 was in a marked lane space and violated, followed by a violation by A2 who was also in a marked lane space, we would ignore A2's violation since both players were in marked lane spaces, correct?

Absolutely correct.
