Belts

Have used the rubber hidden tailor belt for last 5 seasons and thinking of going to the shirt stay with stirrups.. Belt helps with not only keeping shirt tucked in but keep my pants up... does the shirt stay also help with keeping pants up??

I wear the belt to keep my pants up and blousing straps (purchased at military clothing sales) to keep my shirt down.

I used to wear the rubber belt, but I'm pretty skinny and I found it tended to ride up my waist, which after a quarter or two rendered it useless (I constantly had to push my shirt in on-court to keep it from coming out).

So I switched to the shirt-stays, and considering that I am in the military, I'm surprised I didn't think of that sooner. They rub on your legs a bit, but that's not something you notice until after the game, and after a few weeks your skin gets used to it. They are AWESOME for keeping the shirt smooth and crisp looking.

One obvious downfall: they don't work in the summer. Shirt stays and shorts are not a good mix when you're trying to get a job at a camp.

I wear the hidden tailor. Never had any problems with it. I can't see myself changing anytime soon.

Staple guns are okay as long as they are not below the belt.

I was the same way with pleated pants and I would not ever go back to flat panel pants now.

Therefore, what is the official position by your CIAC on belts in your state?

I think that the official position for pants is the lower half of the body!

Held up by staples but not below the belt.
