It wasn't odd, it was a no catch. Think of it as if no one touched the ball.

This post needs a Hawk 'Homer' Harrelson warning.

Not sure what's odd here.

Once again, announcers clueless, it was not a catch.

They used the word catch but not in the baseball rules sense. They did know that the release had to be controlled and voluntary. Not that bad a job by them.

I don't think the B-R touched home. I assume that was not appealed. Or is touching the bases not even required on a review play?

Of course he is required to touch the plate and I think he did. But if he didn't, he could be called out on an appeal.

Rich Thu Aug 06, 2015 10:19am

Having him complete the running of the bases seems superfluous -- he was called out originally.

Altor Thu Aug 06, 2015 10:55am

At least they didn't send him back to the plate to "swing" and then re-run the entire circuit.

DG Thu Aug 06, 2015 06:52pm

I think his left heel, and right toe touched the plate. :)
