Is there an advantage to a pitcher from wearing a 1B mitt?

For a MLB pitcher, probably. The larger mitt would give him a chance for more diversion to cut 0.02 seconds from the batter recognizing the ball.

For a LL pitcher, no I don't think so.

You mean pitching without a windup, hiding his grip on the ball? I never thought of that.

Is it actually a disadvantage for fielding batted balls? Is it any advantage for removing the ball to throw it?

It's an advantage for catching the ball. It's a disadvantage for removing the ball. It's why infielders (other than F3) use a relatively small glove and outfielders use a larger glove.
