Argh. I'm reading the base running rules (high school) and trying to find the rule on when a runner passes the runner ahead of him while running the bases. There is one right?

Is he allowed to pass the runner in front as long as he doesn't touch the base before him?

But "passing" means COMPLETELY passing. 100% of the trailing runner beyond 100% of the lead runner.

He asked about high school rules. In the 2012 book (latest version I have), it's rule 8-4-2m. A runner is out when he "passes an unobstructed preceding runner before such runner is out (including awarded bases)".

Good catch - I didn't see that.

For some reason, when someone types high school, my eyes just keep on going. NFHS registers. NCAA registers. OBR registers... but I consistently seem to not notice when someone types out "high school rules". Weird.
