Is having a wristband on your glove legal when pitching? Pic included

Is it part of the glove? If not, I would not wear it. Someone will complain, then it will have to be removed anyway.

I would not judge that to be distracting. I would not remove that from my game.

My opinion. I would not make the player remove it. While it is not manufactured for that purpose, I do see a potential reason for the addition of the wristband. Player comfort. I see nothing wrong with adding that to the glove in the location it is added. If it was white or grey, we have an issue (or Optic yellow for softball) but since it is black, it's good.

Based on what rule? In NFHS rules I find nothing to make this illegal. It is not in violation of the color rules for gloves, so that rule doesn't apply. I see nothing in the rules that says you can't have something like this attached to the glove. I also have a very hard time saying that the item in question is dangerous.

My daughter's glove has one and it even has the manufacturer logo embroidered on it. In all her years as a pitcher no one has ever complained. I wouldn't go looking for trouble.

I don't see any problem with it but I'm sure some DB coach will start complaining if his team is down a few runs.

NFHS 2-1-Penalty. the UMPIRE has sole authority to judge whether or not an item is distracting and shall have that item removed.

Someone complaining does not constitute having it removed.

I agree this would not be illegal in my game. But for the OP, it is umpire judgement on whether this is distracting and therefore illegal. So expect that in some games the umpire will instruct it to be removed.

Your right, but that decision should still be in accordance with the rules and not
how you feel that day. Unfortunately, that is not always the case.

If a coach is going to bitch about something being distracting, it had better be upon first appearance. If it's not, then it obviously wasn't distracting enough to notice.

Nobody mentioned NFHS in the OP.

In LL, this thing would be illegal for the pitcher's glove. LL rule 1.15 says:

(b) No pitcher shall attach to the glove any foreign material of a color different than the glove. The pitcher may wear a batting glove on the non-pitching hand under the pitcher’s glove provided the batting glove is not white, gray or optic yellow.

(c) No pitcher shall wear sweat bands on his/her wrist or arms.

This contraption violates both rules in that organization.
