I didn't see this one coming.
Here is an article I just read on news website: Daily Buzz: Little League home-plate helmet toss leads to lawsuit | FOX Sports on MSN

I wonder what attorney saw enough merit to proceed with the suit.

This entire thread is uncalled for. I am conducting some legal research on "defamation via the internet." You all are in trouble!!! :D:D:D

Too bad it didn't hit the coach in the head. He needs to have some sense knocked into him.
Oh wait, what was the coach doing near home to be close enough to get hit? Shouldn't he have stayed in the dugout or the coach's box, right? Sue the umpire who neglected to enforce the rules that put the coach in harm's way! And what about the helmet manufacturer? Surely it should be held liable for constructing a helmet that can tear someone's Achilles! The league should be sued as well for sustaining an environment that allows players to throw helmets in celebration. Watch out, Williamsport! We'll figure out a way to come after you, too. Perhaps we can go after a no-chinstrap rule... |
Why was the coach in a position to be hit in the first place?
I don't think that a foreseeable consequence of tossing a helmet is the severing of a tendon. |
The idiot coach probably stepped on the helmet. Do you know how many trip hazards there are in a typical LL dugout? This yayhoo is liable to sue a kid for dropping his glove on the ground and he trips over it.
Frankly, this peenoid has no business coaching in any youth sport. As a parent, I'd be worried if my kid gave him a boo boo of any sort. |
