Check out the play on Prince Fielder (Yes, I know that he should have never stopped going to HP in the first place but watch F5 when he was being run back to 3B by F2) from last night's game.

To me, and this is just subjective, it looked like Fielder was hoping to make contact to get an obstruction call. When the defensive player got out of the way, Fielder appeared to push off against empty air and fell over.

In any case, good non call.

No Chance. Even tripping over his own feet couldn't draw an obstruction call.

Defense dodged adequately. Prince tripped himself.

Agree with everyone else. Even if there had been contact between Fielder and Bogaerts, there's no way Fielder was obstructed from going to the base. A runner cannot deviate from his path to a base to try and draw an obstruction call.

And I trust that Martinez was called out for violating the three-foot path well before Pedroia tagged him.

I agree with the others.

IMO, this play just emphasized and made Fielder look like the sub-standard base runner he is.

LOL!!!! Not even close, Mark! F5 ducked out of the way as soon as Fielder turned and Fielder tripped over his own feet.
