What's the call?
 
I was observing this game....

Runner on third standing 3 feet in foul territory catches a fly foul ball before the third baseman can get to it. Foul probably would have been caught by F5.

What's the call?

Runner is out. Batter returns with an additional strike (treat it as a foul ball for the batter).

If it was intentionally designed to avoid a DP(OBR), or if the DP was likely (FED), get the two outs.

1) Umpire thinks it would have been caught... Answer: Runner is out, foul ball on batter.

2) Umpire thinks it would have been caught, and F5 could have doubled up R1 at third... Answer: Both are out.
