Little League Tournament Eligibility

From the Official Little League rulebook:

Pages T4-T5 under the Heading "League Eligibility", Subparagraph 2) provides as follows:

2) The league must have scheduled and played, at a minimum, a 12- game
(per team) regular season exclusive of playoffs and tournament games
for each division entering tournament. See Reg. VII. The schedule shall be
arranged so that at least one-half of the games are scheduled prior to
June 15.

My question is if the League scheduled 14 or 15 games but one of the league teams only played 11 games (Weather, not enough players, etc.), is that league disqualified from entering a team in the international tournament? Or, are the players from the team that only played 11 games not eligible?

Does anyone know where one might find guidance on this?

I would suggest asking your question on LL's Facebook discussion page. The link is https://www.facebook.com/LittleLeagu...02980683107053

What I understand is that players from that particular team would not be eligible, not the entire league. In order for players from that team to be on a tournament team, the league would need to apply for a waiver, approved by LL HQ. But I could be wrong.

Contact your local league's District Administrator for the answer. The way that I understand the 12 game schedule requirement is that it would not disqualify the league's All-Star team but any player that his/her team did not play the 12 game schedule would not be eligible for All-Stars.

Your guidance needs to come from the District, not us. LL has people in place to rule on this kind of thing, and who have the authority to make exceptions when they make sense (perhaps this team that played 11 games happened to have horrendous luck regarding rainouts, for example).

Good luck dealing with district administrators and their staffs, though. Some of them are as ignorant about the rules and regulations of LL, and are simply occupying those positions because nobody else wants them. It is a good place to start, but they may only know so much.

That's why I suggested the LL Facebook discussion page. There are many league officials that comment on that board, and even someone from Williamsport will chime in from time to time.

You are likely to get the "right" answer on the LL page. But as far as a ruling that will matter for the tournament in question, the ONLY place to go is the district person (or region if you have to).

I am in District 10 in East Texas and we have a great District Administrator. If you have any question, he will listen, and give you an answer. If he doesn't know the answer, he will find it out for you. You might not like the answer, but you can take it to the bank.

BTW, Facebook might be a good resource, but if I dealing with a eligibility question, something posted on Facebook doesn't carry much weight.
