If the kid played in the Police Althetic League (PAL), I can't figure how Little League is possibly involved.

Anyone have any idea what model bat was being used?

Little League was sued because the group certifies that specific metal bats are approved for -- and safe for -- use in games involving children.

The article on yahoo refered to the parent company for Louisville Slugger so I'd guess it was one of them. I feel the same way. Just because the bats are Little league approved doesnt mean that accidents can't happen. Yes its a horribley tragic event but even in a Little League affialiated league game, I can't see how they are included in the suit. Why not also sue the kid who hit the ball, he's the one who caused the accident. It said in the article that none of the partys named in the suit (The bat manufacture, Sports Authority, or Little League International) were admitting guilt.
