No, I think it's worse. It used to be once in a while but now it seems like every post. But regardless, it just diminishes the board and the people doing the namecalling.

If it is worse than you have not been here as long as I thought you had. Heck McGriffs was much worse than this. Not advocating the name calling, but this is tame by my standards.

But that's neither here nor there. Surely we should all be above such juvenile behavior.

The problem usually starts with one poster, who irritates several of the regulars with his BS, sticks his 2 cents into every thread. I've put him on the ignore list for over a year and it would be better for everyone else if they would. too. It's also a real Pain in the Arse when people quote this person whom they know is a thorn in everyone's side. We all know who I am talking about so maybe if we would just stop responding to his little digs and tirades, he would simply get the idea and leave!

Choose to ignore....... No winners......

It happens on every board from time to time. But it happens here more. Sorry it does. Just look at the discussion about politics and influence on the basketball board and no one has name called or insulted people in their disagreement. You could talk about LL here and step back and see the sparks fly. ;)

Well, this IS the baseball board... not sure why you're surprised. haha.

One of the reasons football is now my main sport. Camaraderie amongst the officials is outstanding. Egos are generally checked at the door as you have to work as a team more so than in baseball.

Just look at the baseball board here, then look at the football board at refstripes.com - there are great discussions there and everyone is even willing to help new people (which I know was a hot button issue on the baseball boards). The amount of pure "bickering" in threads is significantly lower.

Season is just around the corner!
