After the slide that causes the incident watch the player come in from behind and take-out his own Team Mate and escalate the entire confrontation!

That was an ugly slide. A bit of a reverse of what happened in the pro game that caused all the controversy

Saw this yesterday. F5 needed to be dumped for choke holding and punching the runner in the face. Bad slide but no excuse for actions of F5.

Agreed, F5 caused this incident and his teammates escalated it. I am just curious about why the umpires got physically involved. I personally would get out of dodge and let things simmer down on their own, while taking notes on who will be going to the bus.

Where was a choke hold and punch? I must be blind. Looked like he thought about it because of the ugly slide, but didn't. I don't even think it was F5 covering on the play, but his teammate who ran in and pushed him made it worse.

It was number 7. I didn't pay attention so much as to his position because of the rundown, but he was the one covering 3rd. He got slid into, started getting runner in a chokehold, then got up and punched him. Then the pile ensued. That's how I saw it the 5 or 6 times I watched it.

Edited to add: I just watched it again a couple times. It was F6, who was covering after the rundown. He started to choke the runner, then stood up over him menacingly, then punched him just as he was getting pushed from behind, but definitely was throwing some kind of punch.

Sorry Steve, disagree 100% about both. That wasn't even close to a choke. And the punch, looked more like an elbow, but only due to his momentum from being pushed from behind. IMO

Same here. I don't get paid to work MMA matches. Stand aside, take notes, wait for the cops...their gear is better.

EDIT: looks like the plate ump had the right idea.
