Took on 7 games this weekend, 4 sat and 3 Sun, problem is our weather....usually mild here on the central Ca. coast, on shore breeze keeps us fairly cool, sometimes with fog. Last 2 days has been high 80's, expected to hold with the off shore wind, temps climbing ino 90's..I'm gonna buy stock in <i>Crystal Geyser Water Co.</i>!!!!!!

You guys that work in the South, I feel for ya!!!!!! I am just sitting here sweating my *** off, in shorts and flip-flop shoes....maybe I'll shed a few pounds...guess there is a flip side;o

You should consider yourself lucky that you do not work in the valley. My hottest game last year was 112 F at game time, and I had the dish. This weekend I will get some relief, because I am travelling up to Reno to work. It is only expected to be in the low 90's, as opposed to our forecasted high here today of 102 F.

But you guys don't have the HUMIDITY like we do in the Midwest!!!!!! I feel for ya. Hey, hot is hot, if you are working the plate you are going to sweat your $!@ off. Have a good season.

Umpiring fastpitch softball and baseball I had 56 scheduled games during the month of June. Of the 56 scheduled games, 24 of them were rained out. I was ready to invest in scuba gear until last week when I actually worked 6 days straight without a rain cancellation. First time I've worked that many days in a row since April.
