The new BBCOR bats.
In case some of you do not know Kyle McNeely, the OhioHSAA Director of Baseball Umpire Development is the immediate past Chariman of the NFHS Baseball Rules Committee.
This past Saturday two newspaper articles were published with regard to the new BBCOR bats. The OhioHSAA provided links to them. The Dayton Daily News article is an interview with Kyle. BS: I posted these articles because I thought that some of the members of this Forum would be interested in them, especially the one containing the interview of Kyle McNeely. Just because you live in California, and therefore are better than everybody else in the other 49 states of the Union, is not excuse for making snotty remarks like yours. MTD, Sr. |

The only difference I have seen with BBCOR bats is the sound of the game, and a few less home runs. I have still had varsity games of 1-0 and 15-14. Good hitters still hit and good pitchers and defense prevent runs.
I have not noted a dramatic change in the game. |
if it's cold out you will definitely notice a big change

I guess it is not "cold" around here. The only game I recall where I wore everything I had was in mid-February. 8 or 10 games on the bases with a jacket and only 2 I can recall on the plate with a jacket (I usually wear a long sleeve shirt on plate for cool games and if really cool a long sleeve silk underneath the long sleeve umpire shirt).
