I have just got the news that I am going to go the Cooperstown to umpire the Hall of Fame games this summer. This is something that I am really excited about. Have any of you guys ever gone? What can you tell me about your experiences in cooperstown?

I went to Cooperstown a couple of years ago for the induction ceremony. It's a sleepy place basically in the middle of nowhere. Be prepared for large crowds, long lines, and hot weather. If you want to see the museum, don't go on Sunday. We went right away Saturday morning when it opened, and by the time we were through about 4 hours later, they were packed in like sardines. Sunday was worse.

Oh, and make sure to get your picture taken with the guy who looks just like Babe Ruth, and get hugged by the lady dressed up like the Statue of Liberty with the huge chest.
