Official of the Year

MrUmpire

Congratulations, Bob.

It is reassuring to see that Illinois reconizes the difference between quality of performance and self-promoting chatter.

Thanks to all. I was stunned to get the letter about this back in April (or so). All of you have been a big part of my official development.

Bob welcome to a very select club.

And our own Jeff Rutledge gave an outstanding presentation to the new officials.

And our own POB14 … sat around and watched a lot. :-)

Congratulations to Bob Jenkins!

Congrats to Bob and to Jeff.

Give the credit to Bob. I just gave a presentation I always give during this time of year. Nothing special or unique about what I did this weekend.

Peace

I agree that Bob deserves Kudo's....especially for such an honor!

But if you have been giving back, you deserve it too. All who help out the new guys deserve a pat on the back. Too many officials don't take the time to help out the rookies.

We *all* should give back. When we are short umpires or officials, we can blame a lot of things -- but what did we do to make the situation better ourselves?

Great job Bob! I have trouble being named official of the week.🙂

Agreed......but how many actually do? I am able to do more than most, but it seems to be fewer and fewer who are actually willing to help with training and such.

I have had a few awards.......some of the most memorable are from first year coaches that claim I am the "Worst Umpire Ever".....funny how their awards usually get transfered to to one of the next umpires they have......d;-)

Yes, I'm sure our chilly day in Naperville was the deciding factor.

Big ups.

There was one time that I was in contention for Official Of The Game.

Then, in the second inning, my partner showed up. 😀

As I told you before we started our steamy doubleheader today, congratulations, Bob. It's always a pleasure assigning you and working with you, whom I easily count as one of the best umpires with whom I am privileged to work.
