Okay guys, just for fun, the cast & family of the Donna Reed Show:

• Donna Stone (Donna Reed) grew up on a farm. She is a "Graduate Nurse" and sometimes works as a nurse on the show. Donna was married to Alex when she was 18 and the couple live in the fictional city of Hilldale. She participates in community activities such as charity campaigns and amateur theatricals. Like several television wives and mothers of the 1950s, Donna wears heels, pearls, and chic frocks to do the housework.
• Alex Stone (Carl Betz) is a pediatrician with an office in the Stone house. Like most television couples of the 1950s, Alex and Donna sleep in twin beds. The two show a physical affection for each other slightly more intense than other television couples of the period.
• Mary Stone (Shelley Fabares) is 14 "almost fifteen" and a freshman in high school when the show opens. She has a few boyfriends during the course of the show with Jimmy Hawkins as Scotty being a regular. Mary plays the piano like a professional and studies ballet. She leaves the show to attend college.
• Jeff Stone (Paul Petersen) is "almost twelve" when the show opens. He is a typical American boy; he plays sports, likes to eat, and argues with his older sister.
• Trisha (Patty Petersen) is a runaway child the Stones adopt after Mary leaves for college. She remained for the duration.

Was Bud played by Billy Gray?

Yes, and Lauren Chapin played Kathy, the younger daughter. After the show ended, she had a rough time with lousy husbands/boyfriends and drug addiction. I think she's doing OK now. The mother was played by Jane Wyatt, the older daughter was played by Elinor Donahue (from an acting family, had a long career in TV), and of course Robert Anderson knew best.

Many people are unaware that the supposedly idyllic 1950s were actually a time of significant social and political turbulence, along with great fears about the Soviet Union and the threat of atomic warfare. The "wholesome TV family" that is so ridiculed today was actually presented to reassure Americans that things were OK.

Ozzie Nelson couldn't have weighed 150 pounds, but he played football for Rutgers.

Yeah, the ball was still bouncing around in the replay and McCarver was already pronouncing it foul. What a douche. It looked like the ball was touched just to the right of the side edge of the plate, which last time I checked, was in fair territory.

I have been very busy. I umpire four 9-inning NABA games every weekend, and starting my masters degree (MBA with specialization in Professional Golf Management) program in December, so I'm getting ready for that. I am also involved in a great home-based business, as well as my custom golf club repair workshop (which I've been doing for 18 years now). I have been steadily working out, losing weight (PM for details, don't want to spam) and umpiring baseball. Other than all that, I haven't been doing much :)

I'll post some pictures soon. I ballooned back up to 292, and from July 5th to now have lost 75 lbs! I have MediFast to thank for it! I highly recommend this diet for anyone needing to make weight or just lose a bunch of pounds fast.

You are probably right, as I just happened to pass through the room at the time and did not see any other replays other than the one McCarver was commenting on.

It might have been foul, I couldn't tell, but McCarver called it foul prematurely, demonstrating (even in lo mo) his ignorance of the rule.
