Really? What to bet that Angel Hernandez calls a balk and ejects someone?

Two solid-looking, entertaining crews it looks like. ;)

Will they have 6 different guys for the WS, or will those six come from these selected for the CS games?

Similar to the NFL, the WS crew come from the Divison Series pool...

Great job all around last night - Davis on the swipe tag by Sabathia, Randazzo on the hustle hit by Gardner, and Culbreth on that run down....

That was a great call. I think I would have to bang that one though instead of the way Davis did it but that's his style.

Love the comments by the Rangers announcer here. Then he has to eat a little crow at the end:

The announcer: "Perhaps a split second before he touched the plate."

Yeah...right. Not even that close. Great call by Davis. No idea how he saw that from where he was, but he clearly did. There is a reason hes been assigned the CC for a lot of playoff series over the past few years.

Hmmm,

Why? Is he 'more' out if you do the 'Big Bang.'

I think you'll notice that most professional umpires have gone to the "less is more" signalling system on close plays.

You can't say it wasn't that close. It WAS that close. He was still out, but it was a very close play -- 6 to 8 inches moving about 5 feet a second. That's pretty close.

Excellent job by the young man during the 7th inning strech preforming "God Bless America"!

Rich Sun Oct 17, 2010 12:45pm

It was a real shame seeing both pitchers squeezed by Cousins last night. Derryl must think the knee is mid-thigh.

Welpe Sun Oct 17, 2010 01:29pm

You're right, he was squeezing them at the knees but at least he was consistent.
