Hello all, hope summer ball is treating everyone well, last Feb. I went to a umpire clinic run by Matt Hollowell mlb
ump he is running a advanced clinic this fall and I though you might like to know about it . Joe McEacharn will
be there and he is looking for umpires to work as fill in here in conn. at the AA level, I realize all of us might not be at this level but it's always good to try to advance,

Matt has been a real down to earth type of guy and has had many other mlb
umpires work his camp the guy's are all over the field the cage work last time was in
five different areas the groups were small and you got better one on one than other camps I have been to.

I just thought you might like to know about this if you decide to go, the last camp was very informative on the basic an other advanced concepts,
Matt has also written letter's for other guys to advance one guy just got NCAA DIV. 1 playoff games because of
his help, and contacts below is the letter Matt sent me . hope to see some of you there. Frank Mcdonough #97

Hello from the NEUC staff!

We hope that you have had a great season umpiring and that you have put the skills you learned at the February
clinic to use! We have spoken to many of you since the last clinic by phone and e-mail and the positive
feedback we received has been tremendous! The clinic's evaluation forms that each of you filled out were
extremely positive and made us feel great about the work we did. We have had many of our students reach their
personal goals since the clinic and work higher levels of baseball. With this in mind, we would like to take this
opportunity to invite our most important students to our first annual ADVANCED FALL CLINIC!

When:
Friday, November 1st, Saturday, November 2nd and Sunday, November 3rd 2002

Where:
Jack Cust Baseball Academy- Flemington N.J.
(3 indoor cages, outdoor cages, 3 Astroturf fields, state of the art gym facilities and classrooms)

Who:
This advanced fall clinic will feature major league umpire of 26 years MIKE REILLY. Along with Mike, will be
Matt Hollowell (MLB fill-in), Justin Klemm (MLB fill-in), Webb Turner (AAA International League) and many other
instructors with professional baseball experience. (Our staff is subject to change considering post-season
assignments. Regardless, a quality, professional staff will always be in place at NEUC)

Our guest speaker this year will be President-elect of the Professional Eastern League (AA Baseball) Joe
McEacharn. Joe will talk about what he is looking for when he selects umpires for his league. Joe will be
accepting applications for substitute umpires in such cites as Trenton N.J., Harrisburg and Reading PA, Bowie
MD, New Haven, New Britain and Norwich CT and all other Eastern League cities. So bring your resume with
you!

What:
This clinic is an ADVANCED clinic and will be tailored to umpires who have worked High School Varsity and
higher levels of baseball. This Advanced Clinic will focus on:

" Cage Work- Each student will have the opportunity to get videotaped instruction with various professional
instructors.

game. How to avoid fraternization.
