Balk Video to learn
 

I'm a rookie umpire who wants to improve his knowledge on balks. I want to purchase a video to study. I do most games under Fed rules and some by OBR. What video would you recommend I purchase?

Best $40 you'll ever spend. Make sure you really understand it though, because you're going to call balks that might not get called because coaches and umpires don't know the balk rules. You'll have to be able to explain what you're calling.

Thanks guys. Myself and a few other rookie umps are going to get together and "dissect" this video when it gets here. I'm sure after studying it we WILL have to be ready to explain to the coaches in our area, why we called the balk.

The premier coach in our area, whose team won the City h.s. championship, came out on me and begged for a balk call. I didn't have one. He said that it had to be a balk. I said, "You tell me how he balked." The guy paused, and then just left. He is the best around and he doesn't know all the balks.
