If anyone was baited here, then it appears the umpire took the bait, hook, line and sinker. We probably all agree that walking around the catcher didn't look very good. There is no need to mention it because it wasn't right. It wasn't even necessary.

I will praise the umpire for showing his professionalism in the heat of the moment. I am not going to list the number of things he did right during the manager's tirade. The catcher had more to say after the manager left too. I suppose he wasn't done until the umpire was in the boat.
