I was on this site last night and noticed that Rick Roder had posted about his new web-site. I didn't have time to visit it last night, so I came back here today to get the URL. Rick's post seems to be missing.

Was it removed? Why? It can't be because it's a "commercial" post, can it? The post about the "Midwest Umpire's Clinic" is still here (as of this writing).

Bob

Does BRD Part Deux . . . come into play?

Officiating.com publishes a rules differences book. I can understand them not wanting to provide free advertising space to a competitor.

It makes sense. MSN sells a multitude of ads for placement on it's IE browser. Have you seen one for Netscape?

The Midwest Clinic does not compete with Official.com, but I'll bet Gerry Davis wouldn't Plug it in his mailers. (Unless he was the clinician)

There are plenty of other opporutunities for Roder to hawk his book. I don't think it was a personal decision...just business.

checking in

I apologize to officiating.com if I overstepped my bounds. I just thought I was being helpful. But the site must have its policies and I will be 100% respectful of them. I hope to check in time to time to see what the "buzz" is in amateur umpiring! My best wishes to everyone,

Rick Roder

Yep,

Garth . . . as my post indicates I believe that is the ONLY reason.

Had Rick just referenced his website ONLY the post may have remainded.

Of course, the curious could check Rick's profile and discover the URL for his website.
