3 Man Mechanic FED Double Steal

Can anyone help with the responsibilities of U2 and U3 (FED) 3 Man Mechanics for a double steal, runners on 1st and 2nd? It's been suggested that U2 needs to break torwards B when R1 takes off for 2nd.... I feel that puts U2 in no man's land if R1 decides to turn back towards 1st and (if first throw goes to third which seems to be the likely throw) now there's a throw from 3rd to 1st...... Any help would be appriciated.

Whoever suggested that needs to stop suggesting things.

U1 (in A) still has fair-foul responsibilities and how do you suppose he handles that if he's sprinting towards second base. What if there's a fly ball to right where U1 should be going out?

U3 has either steal play. Once the play is over, then (if the situation warrants) the umpires can move to B and D.

Doug --

I think you need to get clarification from whoever made this statement. My guess (or hope) is that something was lost in the translation.
