Warming Up Between Innings

Can a team send out an extra infielder (eligible substitute) between innings to warm up with the infielders? I know that this will not be allowed if it delays the game.

You often see an "extra" F3 throwing to, say, F4.

There's often an extra player warming up the outfielder on the side nearest the dugout.

One team around here has one player throw ground balls from near the plate (instead of F3 throwing the ground ball)

Thanks. I have a kid who is a backup third baseman. He is not always in the lineup, but my closer is the starting third baseman. I would like for the kid on the bench to stay loose between innings so that he is not tight coming off the bench in late game sitauations.

Unless there's some local rule against it, have him throw to some other bench player in the "bullpen" (which I recognize is often just some patch of grass down the line past the parents).
