I think you're wrong on number one. When viewed on my 55" LED, what appears to some as a step BACKWARDS off the rubber looks like actually F1 making contact with the rubber. I can see his pivot foot still in front of the rubber when he makes his move.

I hate giving credit to announcers, but they seem to see the same thing.

THAT would make a huge difference to my ruling, and certainly help explain the dance lesson that ensues.
