Moron Canadian
Baseball Video Highlights & Clips | NYY@TOR: Fan is ejected for throwing ball onto field - Video | MLB.com: Multimedia
Ok ok....he might not be Canadian |
Of course he's Canadian. A Labatt swilling effin' idiot. If he was American and it was any one of several ballparks I've visited here in America, he would have been bleeding worse than his boyfriend by the time the cops got there. There, they applaud!
What a jerk-off. |

Isn't this post title redundant? :)

Moronic thing to do
Stupid thing to do, for the reasons cited by the announcers.
Having said that, there are 10 times the number of people in the US than in Canada. Therefore, 10 times the number of morons, 10 times the number of geniuses, 10 times the number of great guys, 10 times the number of losers, you get the idea. Hey Hoser, how's it goin', eh? |
IF you assume that there is the same RATIO of morons to non-morons in the Great White North as there is in the USA.

I agree the it was a bone head move to throw a foul ball like that back but the title should have been " Moron fan " etc. |

If you want to take THIS seriously, then you REALLY need some help getting a grip---the kind of help that can't be found at an umpiring forum. |
How is this any different from a bleacher creature at Wrigley?
C'mon, is it really that big of a deal? |

In the Toronto situation, the guy threw a foul ball back into the field and could have injured someone. Nobody is expecting (but now maybe they should) a foul ball to be thrown back onto the field. So, believe it or not, it makes the Toronto moron more of a moron than the Chicago moron.;) |
Candlestick Park, 1989, Dodgers vs. Giants.
Late in the game (which means the moron fan in this story had plenty of time to get plowed), a ball is fouled about 20 rows behind the plate. This moron--who was a lot like the moron in Toronto (pronounced Tronno)--picked up the ball, with a beer cup in his off hand just like the other moron, and after a brief pause, he threw the ball right between Rick Dempsey and the lefty batter, Brett Butler. Butler broke into a trot away from the plate, and Dempsey turned around with a fighter's look in his eyes. It cleared Dempsey's right ear by less than a foot, and it was a shocker to everybody, except Fernando, who just walked up and picked it up like he was fielding a grounder. Well, five guys landed on this idiot and when the cops rushed in (Candlestick had armed, uniformed cops), they actually had to work to get the group to stop mauling the guy. They literally dragged this bleeding, semi-conscious, handcuffed drunk all the way up the stairs. I watched his feet slap the top of each step as they dragged him away. Moronic Canadian fan behavior is always much less surprising. |
Holy bashing on Canadians.

Are Wrigley outfielders standing there watching, waiting for the ball to come back in? I don't believe they always are. A guy with his back turned (such as OF) who gets hit in the occipital lobe, dead. I just think there are bigger fish to fry when talking about fan behavior. Similarly, if you want to rip on Canadians, there are alot better ways to do it :p;) |

If you play it back to when the dude throws the ball, you can see his follow through conks his buddy in the nose. His buddy leans over and says, "Hey hoser, you just bonked me in the nose."

It seems like disruptive fan behaviour at Blue Jays games is not penalized very heavily by criminal prosecution. This is the first time I have actually seen them bust somebody for throwing stuff. I'm not familiar with fan behaviour in the states, but is it common for MLB parks in America to display behaviour such as this:

Doesn't look like it stopped the fans from misbehaving. Every opening day I have attended we have had stuff thrown from the stands. On Opening day 2005, fans threw the free giveaway fridge magnet Blue Jays schedules onto the field. It's embarassing. |
I think you have successfully proven our point!

Right!
Buffalo is in Canada. |

Many of those in attendance are Canadians. And, perhaps, in accordance with the antitquated and politically incorrect Binet Classifications, some might be morons. |

All I have to say is, Canadian beer sucks.

Quote:
Sure, just as with US beer, some Canadian beer isn't so good, but there are some damn fine Canadian brews that I'd take over any "commercial" label in the US. |

It is an account of an incident that is indicative of how such an offender is sometimes handled. I have stated no opinion about whether it's smart, stupid, right, wrong, good or bad. Do you live in the real world? Do you understand crime and punishment, and more importantly, big-city crime and punishment? Why would you risk seeming this naive to a public forum by asking this kind of question? I don't know whether to laugh out loud or roll my eyes. |

You are another person who is far too quick to use the word attack. Can't you find another word in this vast and magnificent language to describe my reaction to your latest demonstration of obtuseness? When I feel "attacked," you'll know it.
I feel differed with. That's a long way from "attacked." Look up attack. |
All I can say is, Canadians have never flown the American flag upside down as the Americans did one of the past All-Star games!! :)

YouTube - Rick Mercer - Talking To Americans Here's another one, some of which is with Harvard students and professors, talking about rediculous items and Americans don't even know the announcer is making fun of them: YouTube - Talking to Americans (2001) [Part 2/5] |

It was a World Series. 1992. I bet there are bone heads in every stadium, in every sport, and of every nationality. I can't find the clip but what about where the fan through the bottle of beer at Milton Bradley( I believe in LA). Was he a moronic American? I still think the title should just be "moron fan" Where he's from, or where you think he may be from has no bearing on this matter. |

Canada came into baseball relatively late, and the general tone of the fan participation and behavior is rather unsophisticated. So take it and accept it. It's the way it is. My only way to relate is when I hear those generalities about Californians. And I can't say that I care in the least when I hear those ignorant jokes and statements. I just laugh it off. ... Much like these fellow Southern Californians are laughing it off: http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...lpaper_215.jpg |

1) It's about Candlestick park and the Giants (cheer) and Dodgers (hiss). 2) Law enforcement is a subject I'm interested in. Kevin, you mean all of you in the LA area don't drive convertibles, have three super model girlfriends and routinely attend parties in the Hollywood Hills? I'm shocked! |
