There is just no way Bobby Cox can be thrown out, enough times.

So I guess a high-five and a booty-slap are really out of the question!

On-field fist bumping with the catcher, or even with a partner, has never been comfortable to me.
Like stretching, I like to take care of any of that touchy-feely stuff before I step onto a field, or onto a hardwood floor.

This Hohn character is truly a master at one area of umpiring: baiting.

That's right, he's a master baiter.

I have, many a times gone over to a coach and pull the lineup card out to discuss another problem. Many have said thank you for not making a specticle of the situation. Preventive umpiring goes a long way. But only with Cox , being the miserable ole ******* he is, does trying to be more respectable to the coach backfire on you.

Throw the ole bat out often.

The lineup card trick only works between innings. I didn't see the game, but from the way it was cut together from MLB.com it seems like he was in the middle of an at bat, and tried to use the lineup card. I might have been seeing it wrong though.

The last time I heard that one I nearly fell off my duck-billed platypus.
