NEW-IN-BOX NB Plate Shoes for Sale

I don't know how or why these were sitting in their original box in storage, but if anyone needs a pair of NEW, unused, New Balance plate shoes, size 12 EW (4E), drop me a PM. I got rid of my old NB that I had been using for the last 2 years and am wearing the Reeboks for the time being, but I found an extra pair of the New Balance ones in storage. They are unused and unworn and I'm selling them.

PM me with an offer (shipping would be $6 via FedEx Ground), as I'm obviously not wanting to get rich selling these. :)

Compare/Contrast please...

How do you like the RBKs compared to the NBs? In feel & durability? (I don't want to start the "there is too much white on them" debate.) I am thinking of changing for next year, my first run NBs are a little worn down, and I will have to buy new ones. The RBKs seem to feel a little heavier in the store, is that true?

You're thinking of switching to the Reeboks??

But there is too much white on them!

UMP25 Thu Jul 30, 2009 11:42am

I got the Reeboks for two main reasons: (1) the side protection extends farther around [I had gotten hit three frickin' times on the side of my foot wearing the NBs--ouch!], and (2) traction. On a dry, flat field I often found my feet sliding around too much behind home plate.

As far as their weight, when running, I have found no discernible difference. They're only slightly heavier, if that.

I won't comment on the white because I can live with that. However, whoever thought of putting suede on a plate shoe was off his meds that day! That part of the shoe is a biitch to keep clean, as suede turns brown over time when it gets dirty.

I was half-joking, of course, but the performance characteristics--including the protective flap coverage and the stud pattern--are both something that I would like to try. But I just can't get past the way they look. They're just ghastly.

When they tone them down, I may jump on, but I just can't even stand looking at them.

I don't find their look bothersome, but I have heard from a couple guys out west that Reebok has already come out with the 2nd version of this shoe. I haven't seen it anywhere, so I can't confirm this personally.

I am anxiously awaiting the sequel. The 2nd generation is often a vast improvement. Hopefully they will include leather uppers. White be ahright wit me.

Did anyone see that +POS has their high top plate shoes available in select sizes, as well as a few sizes of their base shoes?

+POS

Yeah, a bit steep huh? But what about that steal of a price on the ugliest base shoes ever made?:)

I'll pass.

I'm all for the guy trying to unload all of that inventory that's stacked up from the bankruptcy, but the prices need to come down. The plate shoes would be something that a lot of old school guys might go for, now that GD and others are going to stop putting them out. As traditional shoes go, they're pretty good.

I wrote him and told him as much. Perhaps he will listen and drop the prices.

I've seen a picture somewhere of the Reeboks without the suede on them. I can't remember where it was, but I remember it. I was actually thinking about selling my NBs and buying the Reeboks but I won't do it until they get rid of the suede on the side.

If you're a 7 or a 14, knock yourself out.

I do happen to wear size 14, but not EE and not 14-1/2 either. But the extra width might not hurt. Hmmmm....I'll have to think about it more, but maybe.
