Batter Hitting Catcher w/ a Thrown Bat

In a previous thread (Leaving Partner in Parking Lot) I mentioned that during a small diamond game the PU called the batter out w/o warning for throwing the bat and hitting the catcher. Granted this situation is much more likely during LL games, but how about FED and OBR? What happens if F2 is struck by a thrown bat and cannot participate in the play?

F1/F5 (any fielder) must field, after play ceases, call time and remove the batter for safety's sake.

I dunno about FED.

It's not an out. Team warning, then ejections. No outs
