Houston @ Washington Suspended game

1) If a guy was on the disabled list or in the minors on the original date, can he play when the game is resumed? My guess: yes

2) If a guy was traded from the Astros to the Nationals (and had not played already in the game) Could he play in the game?

3) Does anyone care who plays for the Nationals?

1. Not sure

2. Yes

3. No

4. If a player is traded from HOU to WAS, and...
4A. Played, but is now out, is he eligible?
4B. Played, and is still in, is he eligible?

Ok, Nyjer Morgan was on the Pirates when this game started. He will come into this game as a pinch runner for the Nationals for a guy that is now in AAA. That question is answered.

I wonder if Frank Howard will be available to Pinch Hit?http://www.baseball-almanac.com/trea...eld_Howard.jpg

First, the MLB "commish" forces the Astros to play a home game in Milwaukee.
Now proposing the MLB commish forces the Astros to resume a game against the Nationals!
Begs the question, why would MLB commish stick it to the Astros twice? :D

Well, they have to complete the game. Actually, the Astros started this game in DC and get to finish at home. If anyone is getting it stuck to them, it is the Senators.

Or maybe it's just the rule and nobody's really getting it stuck to them. Besides, the Nationals have been eliminated since May. Who cares?

I think the rule allows a continuation in the other city but it is not required. It makes sense in this instance as the Colt 45's will not visit the Senators again this year.

You beat me to it -- I was going to call them the Expos.

If you're a forward-thinking kind of guy, you could call them the Aztecas, since they'll be playing in Monterrey, Mexico inside of five years. :p

Decent park, horrible team, tough market. A crying shame that Montreal lost the team -- when they put good product on the field, the fans went to the park.

During the 1993 playoff run, the Phils and Expos were playing a 3-game set and we drove up from PA to watch the games. The place was packed 3 games in a row. The strike killed the Expos. They went from having the best team in baseball at the time of the strike to having a firesale right after it was resolved.
